We at LoanSpot know that privacy is important to you.  This privacy policy reflects our respect for your privacy rights.  We will comply with the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act.  This policy describes how we will deal with personally identifiable information that we collect or hold in compliance with the National Privacy Principles.

WHO IS LOANSPOT?

LoanSpot is an organisation that:

  1. offers financial products and services within the mortgage industry
  2. processes and assesses information in respect of loan applications; and
  3. locates providers suitable to provide loans or other financial services to you

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

We will only collect information about you that is relevant to our business.  This will often include general information such as your name, address and other contact details.  If you want us to provide you with particular goods or services, we may need other information such as financial and investment information, credit card details and credit history.

Where reasonable or practicable we will collect your personal information only directly from you.  Our purpose for collecting personal information should be clear at the time of collection.  If you do not provide the information we request we may not be able to provide our services to you.

(c)            mailing houses, courier companies, IT contractors, lawyers and accountants

4.              actual or prospective sureties or guarantors or any other organisation that may have or is considering having an interest in your loan (if applicable), or any other part of our business or assets;

5.              tell you about our range of products and services and any new developments, offers, information or events we think may interest you;

6.              ensure your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date; and

7.              other parts of our corporate group to help us develop and promote our other products and services and to provide improved customer service.

ACCESS TO PERSONAL INFORMATION

Please contact our Privacy Officer if you would like to access personal information we hold about you.  We will give you access unless we are allowed or required by law to refuse it.  We may ask you to pay our reasonable costs of providing access.

If you believe personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, please advise our Privacy Officer.  We will then take reasonable steps to correct it.

In certain circumstances, we may refuse to give access to your personal information or to amend it.  Usually we will explain why and, in the case of amendment, make a note that you have disputed the accuracy or completeness of particular information.

SECURITY AND INTEGRITY

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure, accurate, complete and up-to-date.  If we no longer require your personal information we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. We do not take responsibility for the security of information which is outside our control such as when it is sent by post, courier, facsimile or over the Internet.

To keep up with regulatory, technical and business change, we may amend this policy from time to time by publishing the updated policy on our website
