THE CONSTRUCTION LOAN PROCESS - FIND SUITABLE LAND

  • There isn't any one starting point so you can either:

    • First visit the builders to find a house you like where after you look for a suitable block of land or

    • Find a block of land first and then visit the builders to see which houses might fit the block or

    • You may already own a block of land (either vacant or with a house on it) which means you need to find a suitable house or

    • You can choose a "House & Land" package from a developer/builder

  • Find a suitable block of land to build on. This may be:

    • Sourced from the builder or

    • An estate agent, Landcom or other organisation

    • Knock-down-rebuild (KDR)

  • The builder(s) will then assess the block to determine if your choice of house will fit

  • Once you are happy that your choice of house can be built on the land, you can take the next step of obtaining finance to buy the block or move directly to obtain approval/pre-approval for construction

  • If you only buy the land initially, we can structure the loan such that you only pay interest on the land loan
